The Department of Economic Planning and Development, Prime Minister's Office is pleased to invite suitably qualified, dynamic and highly motivated applicants for the following positions :-

1st Post: ECONOMIC OFFICER (SITE STAFF)

Division II

Salary Scale : B.2 EB.3

Requirements :

1. Must possess a minimum of Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics/Economics and Econometrics/Economics Mathematics/Economics Accounting or in any related field from universities and institutions accredited by the Ministry of Education, Brunei Darussalam
2. Possess analytical skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills
3. Have the ability and willingness to handle multiple tasks within the specified time
4. Possess the skills and have experience in using computer software such as Eviews, Oxmetrics and Microfit

Job Responsibilities :

1. Prepare the groundwork, control and update macroeconomic accounts system such as Financial Programming and Policy
2. Analyse macroeconomic performance on the impact of structural and macroeconomic policies on Gross Domestic Product, Price, Balance of Payments and others in the context of Financial Programming and Policy
3. Identify macroeconomic targets and subsequently formulating macroeconomic policies with the aim of achieving macroeconomic stability in the context of Financial Programming and Policy
4. Provide growth projections for National Income Accounts, Balance of Payments, Fiscal and Monetary in the context of Financial, Programming and Policy
5. Analyse national and international macroeconomic developments and produce reports of research results as inputs to the processes of preparing national policies as well as departmental publications such as Brunei Economic Bulletin and others
6. Assist in the preparation of ground work for the Economic Development Plan

2nd Post: Economic Officer (Site Staff)

Division II

Salary Scale : B.2 EB.3

Requirements :

1. Must possess a minimum of Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics/Economics and Econometrics/Economics Mathematics/Economics Accounting or in any related field from universities and institutions accredited by the Ministry of Education, Brunei Darussalam
2. Possess analytical skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills 
3. Have the ability and willingness to handle multiple tasks within the specified time
4. Possess the skills and have experience in using computer software such as Eviews, Oxmetrics and Microfit

Job Responsibilities :

1. Prepare the ground work, control and update of macro econometric model
2. Analyse, simulate and subsequently provide macroeconomic projected growth in the context of macroeconometric model
3. Assess the impact of various factors and changes in policies on the economy and further identify the measures or relevant economic policies in line with the objectives of macroeconomic stability and sustainable economic growth in the context of macroeconometric model
4. Follow national and international macroeconomic developments and produce reports or research results as input to the processess of preparing national policies as well as departmental publications such as Brunei Economic Bulletin
5. Assist in the preparation of ground work for the Economic Development Plan
